Transportation

Next-generation wireless technology is building a platform for widespread adoption of smart roads and infrastructure, while simultaneously recalibrating the transportation value chain, from manufacturers to end-users.

The Challenge

Capacity restrictions, both along transport routes and at terminals with their bottlenecks, congestion which can impose inconsistence time delays and additional costs, increasing accidents and pollution are common transportation challenges today.

Self-driving cars, enabled by wireless connectivity, could reduce emissions, travel times and delays, and save lives. Data streams from connected road infrastructure like cameras and sensors can be utilized by on-board applications and algorithms to better plan routes and increase safety. New business models, like shared ownership of fleets of autonomous vehicles, may emerge as a logical extension of these innovations.

 What We Do

We are bringing the next generation WLAN (Wi-Fi6) connectivity to the transportation ecosystem with our new product series based on the newest Wi-Fi Standard 802.11ax, which offers fast, secure and efficient wireless connectivity.

As increased cellular / 5G connectivity in vehicles is giving rise to in-vehicle Wi-Fi access points for inside the cabin and for diagnostics, we have already adapted the newest Wi-Fi standard Wi-Fi6 as Qualcomm’s Early Access Partner: telematics and V2X (Vehicle to Everything) connectivity are expected to take an enormous boost through this new WLAN technology.

Why Voxmicro

We are a leading technology group with an extensive portfolio of products for industrial and consumer wireless solutions including a full range of socketed and soldered modules leveraging Qualcomm’s latest technologies.

We are ideal partners in the design and development of new-generation products and solutions, which meet the specific requirements of the transportation markets. Our WiFi6 modules feature MU-MIMO, which is designed to boost traffic for more complex data from smartphones and laptops, and OFDMA, which enables us to handle communication between multiple devices more efficiently and at once.
